Lance is an experienced appellate and trial lawyer known for his ability to tackle complex legal issues. He has briefed and argued appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the Florida Supreme Court, and Florida’s District Courts of Appeal. He previously served as Chair of The Florida Bar’s Civil Procedure Rules Committee and the Appellate Court Rules Committee.

Lance earned his undergraduate and law degrees, with honors, from the University of Florida. While in law school, he was a member of the Florida Law Review. After graduation, Lance clerked for Justice Charles T. Wells at the Florida Supreme Court. He then joined and became a shareholder of Hill Ward Henderson in Tampa, where he handled complex commercial litigation and appeals. In 2018, Lance joined Paul Knopf Bigger, where he works with the trial lawyers to formulate legal strategies, resolve complex issues, and handle appellate matters. Lance has been consistently recognized by Best Lawyers in America and Florida Super Lawyers.

Lance enjoys spending time with his wife, Tara, and their two children, Whit and Wynn. They are active members of Hyde Park United Methodist Church and also love being outdoors, whether it be fishing, boating, camping, or hiking.
